Recipe: PB Pie, Passing It Along

Who doesn't love pie? Who doesn't love chocolate? Who doesn't want to bake? Now, put those together with some peanut butter and you have an amazing no-bake six ingredient Peanut Butter Pie. This was one of those potluck pies that someone brings to work and it's so good that everyone is asking who made it and can they have the recipe. I was lucky enough to get the recipe to this piece of goodness and want to share it with the non-bakers out there.

The six ingredients are Oreos, butter, peanut butter, chocolate chips, heavy whipping cream, and powdered sugar.

The first step is to crush the Oreos. Put a package of Oreos in a big Ziploc bag and begin to crush them up, use a rolling pin to help. Once crushed up, mix one stick of melted butter in with the Oreos and mix well. Then, press firmly into the bottom of a pie pan remembering to come up on the sides of the pan, an oversized spoon or glass will help with smoothing out the bottom and sides. Put this crust into the freezer while continuing on to the next steps.

Now for the filling. Mix 1 1/2 cups of creamy peanut butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1 stick of softened butter into a large bowl. Either mix by hand or a hand-held mixer on low until smooth. Take the crust out of the freezer and pour the filling into it and return to the freezer again to harden up. All done!

There were many options for toppings in the recipe, but by itself is just wonderful. One topping I thought looked extra yummy, though very sweet, was a chocolate topping that was listed. It states to take 1 cup of chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and put in a heat-resistant bowl.

Bring to a rolling simmer 1/2 cup of whipping cream and then pour over the chocolate chips and peanut butter. Let this sit for roughly five minutes, then stir until smooth. Take your pie out of the freezer and pour on the topping. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour. All done, again!

This is so easy and tastes so scrumptious. This will be the talk of any potluck it's brought to, for sure. Just remember to bring the recipe for when people just gotta have it, or maybe not and keep it a prized secret for future potluck's.
