Recipe: Cinnamon Sticks

Cinnamon! Just saying the name brings back smells and thoughts of the Autumn time of the year. This spice needs no introduction as it is one of the most used spices in America ranked right behind Pepper.

Please remember, while adding spices into your diet can be a good thing, to always consult a physician if have any questions or when in doubt. Some spices alter medication, have side effects, or can even cause an allergic reaction.

Most people know the health benefit of cinnamon and its help in lowering blood sugar, or keeping it constant throughout the day; however, it can also be used as a wonderful remedy for the horrible stomach bug or flu. Cinnamon is known as a powerful anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory spice. Research has shown that this spice has the most effective substance against E-coli and Salmonella.

This easy recipe only has 3 ingredients. The items needed are frozen waffles, cinnamon sugar, and butter. If looking to change quantities of ingredients, the cinnamon sugar can be used individually by using sugar and cinnamon.That way the ingredients can be controlled depending on how much it is liked or wanted.

Cut 1 frozen waffle into 6 strips.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon sugar into a skillet over medium heat.

Add the sticks of the frozen waffle into the skillet and turn often. Cook for 2-3 minutes until they are caramelized and crisp.
