Recipe: Onion Rings

French fries and onion rings always seem to be a good sidekick. Especially on the weekends or at gatherings. I don't do much of anything with onion rings, so I asked an acquaintance of mine how she cooks her onion rings. They always seem to get snatched up pretty quickly when she makes them. She said they are very easy and takes no time to make and I could even pull this off myself, lol.

Some items needed are oil, milk, onions, flour, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375*F.

Pour 1 1/2 cups of milk in a large bowl.

Cut 2 large onions into 1/2 inch thick rings and put into the milk. Mix well ensuring all the onions are coated with the milk.

In a different bowl, combine 2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper and mix.

Coat onions in flour mixture.

This is where it gets tricky as oil might pop or splash. Lower the onions, gently, in hot oil with metal tongs. Fry the onions for about 3 minutes until browned, turning once half way through. Drain onions on a paper towel lined plate. Serve immediately.
