Recipe: Sumac Salad

Mmmm, salad. Who doesn't love a nice simple yummy salad? Why not kick it up a notch by adding some lemon flavor to the salad. Sumac can be added instead of lemon juice for topping on a salad or inside the vinaigrette for a nice lemony flavor.

Sumac is still being studied for all of its health benefits. However, there are some known benefits that have already came about in the use of Sumac. One of them is that it has diuretic properties. It helps in excreting the toxic materials from the body and used to cure inflammation of the bladder.

The ingredients needed for this recipe are romaine lettuce, boiled eggs, tomatoes, croutons, cheese, sumac, and sunflower seeds.

Chop 1 bunch of romaine and divide evenly in 3 bowls.

Chop 2 tomatoes and divide evenly among the bowls.

Slice 3 boiled eggs with an egg slicer or by hand. Top each lettuce bowl with 1 sliced egg.

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds onto each salad.

Sprinkle 1/4 cup shredded cheese onto each salad.

Dash Sumac onto each salad and top with 4 or 5 croutons.

Refreshing light lemony salad for any occasion.
