Recipe: Bacon Spinach Roll

It is the Fall time of the year and the soups are starting to make their way around. Instead of the same old grilled cheese as a side with the soup, why not try a roll. It is still great for dipping and adds an extra little touch to the meal.

Some items needed are bacon, sesame seeds, cheddar cheese, spinach, French bread dough, bread crumbs, eggs, salt, and pepper.

Preheat oven to 350*F.

Drain 2- 10 ounce packages of thawed frozen spinach and press out excess moisture. Combine 3 tablespoons package bacon bits, 1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1 large egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper to the spinach in a large bowl and mix well.

Unroll 1- 16 ounce package of thawed frozen French bread dough onto a baking sheet. Form into a large square, about 14 inches, with a floured rolling pin.

Spread spinach mixture over dough leaving a 1 inch border. Roll up dough jelly-roll style and then pinch the edges closed.

Brush roll with 1 large beaten egg and then sprinkle with 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds.

Bake for 25 minutes, until golden. Slice in discs style and serve.
