Recipe: Swiss Chicken Sandwiches

Is everyone enjoying their long weekend? July 4th, a federal holiday here in the States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 by the Continental Congress. That was a mouthful, but worth every syllable. We love July 4th and love these amazing sandwiches, too, for the cookouts and picnics that take place over the holiday weekend.

Items needed are, chicken, lettuce, tomato, buns, honey mustard, barbecue sauce, Swiss cheese, and dill relish.

Preheat the grill.

Brush grill rack with oil to prevent sticking. I like to use a spray I buy from my local grocer, but, oil works just as well.

Sprinkle both sides of 4 boneless chicken breasts (about 4 ounces each) with seasoning. This seasoning can be garlic powder and pepper, lemon and lime salt and pepper, or any other type of dry seasoning that taste good on chicken.

Put chicken on grill and turn frequently for about 16 minutes. Ensure the juice runs clear when meat is pierced. Don't want any cases of Salmonella poisoning this Summer.

Spread honey mustard on the bottom half of each of the buns.

Place lettuce, tomato, and Swiss cheese layered on top of each other on the bottom bun.

Place chicken on top of Swiss cheese, then spread barbecue sauce on top of the chicken and top with dill relish.

Place top bun and serve warm. It's a taste bud explosion! You're welcome!
