Lane Limited 1-Q

Hi everyone and welcome back! I am delighted to be sharing with you, again. We recently enjoyed what we thought to be a "new to us" tobacco. It is one that just gets rave reviews throughout the community, if you like aromatic blends. It is considered a staple amongst many. We thought we hadn't tried it before, so we decided to order a couple tins. Something that gets this much praise must be amazing. Many consider this the best selling bulk tobacco in the world.

What am I talking about? Lane Limited 1-Q. It is sold in bulk and in a tin. The preferred method amid the masses is bulk. We have both to compare the difference, if any difference at all. We like tins, in general. We don't throw them away, we keep them. If you want less expensive or don't care about the packaging, then bulk is the way to go. A high level description of this blend is a Golden Cavendish blend with a hint of Fire-Cured blended in providing scintillating taste and flavorful aroma.

Also Sold As Wilshire At Tinder Box
Aromatic Cavendish and Virginia

This is a Lane invention manufactured by the Scandinavian Tobacco Group. This is a ribbon cut with vanilla flavoring. The strength is mild and the flavoring is low medium. The taste is mild to low medium and the room note is very pleasant. It has no tongue bite when smoked slower and even though it is somewhat moist, it lights easily and burns evenly. It is not complex and just a simple mild smoke. I think the room note is the most commented on as it really inhibits days of old, such as your Grandpa smoking Captain Black.

Remember earlier I stated that we thought this was "new to us"? We recently learned (yes, way behind the 8 ball on this!) that this is sold by many brick and mortar (B&M) shops under many names and has been for years and years, including 'Wilshire' by the TinderBox stores, which we have. I know several companies sell their tobacco under different names to different B&M shops; I just didn't know that this particular one was one of them. We, commonly, buy Danny Boy tobacco at the Ren Faire's when we go, and those are provided by other companies and renamed for Danny Boy.

OK, here is what we thought about it: I gave it a 3.5 and my husband gave it a 3 on a scale out of 5. This is right on par for the way we like our tobacco. He likes more aromatic and I like more low key aromatic or non-aromatic blends, thus the scores. He ranked it lower as it didn't perform high on the aromatic flavor for him and I ranked it higher as it performed fine for me as I like a low key aromatic. Everyone experiences tobacco different and what they feel is best for them, hence the scores are reflective of that. It seems the general pop gives it a 2.8 overall score. Being, if you want this to explode flavoring and high aromatic tendencies, then this may not be the one for you. If you want a high room note with low-key flavoring, then this may be a good one to seize.
