Savinelli Pianoforte Smooth 320KS

Hi! πŸ‘‹ Glad y'all decided to come on back and spend some time with me. I truly appreciate it. I recently decided to join FB again, and we all know how that went down. So, I dusted it off and decided to join Instagram instead. I already am on WhatsApp as our son is overseas and easy to get ahold of him that way. Umm, my point is that FB owns both of these. I had no problem with joining and using those two apps, but they didn't believe who I was on FB, so banned me. This is the time we live in. What is good for the goose is not good for the gander, I suppose. Yes, yes, they said I could take it to appeal and jump through more hoops to prove who I was and if I was worthy, but come on now Cletus?!?! If a requested driver's license, among other things, weren't proof enough, then I'm good.

You want to know what else is good? The pipe of today. Any musician or lover of music could totally appreciate this pipe. The pianoforte is the predecessor of the modern grand and "baby grand" instruments, and it reigned supreme from 1700 to the early Romantic period; for it, the likes of Haydn and Mozart composed their masterpieces. Since the late 20th, it has enjoyed a resurgence, too, having been brought back into the spotlight by those interested in hearing the works of the historic greats played on the very instrument for which they were originally intended. This series, of course, is Savinelli's own ode to the pianoforte, combining classic shapes with jet-black stems and ivory-colored accents.

This is an Author shape that weighs 2.20 ozs. The length is 5.58" and the height is 1.65". The outside diameter is 1.90" and it will hold a 6mm filter if preferred. This is a smooth king size (KS) with an acrylic stem.

Choosing a smooth finish over sandblasted or rusticated is an individual choice. Some like one finish over another for the hold, the look, or the feel. I go more towards how it speaks to me. I tend to gravitate more to the smooth ones and my husband gravitates more to the rusticated styles; however, we have been known to switch back and forth depending on how it is talking. Sometimes, we don't get a choice. A pipe is made one way and that is the only choice. We have passed over pipes before that we thought were nice, but the finish just didn't make the mark. In our opinion, we would've liked to have seen it done differently, so we passed. To each their own.

Until next time; I was, am, and will be Gabrielle.

That is an excellent pipe. It's hard to tell from the photograph, but the grain looks wonderful and a smooth finish is perfect. Not sure what your overall impressions are of this pipe. Thanks for the article and photos, you now have me hot on the trail of finding one of my own.

@Briar Report You're welcome and sending lots of good luck your way in finding your perfect Pianoforte. It is a real treat to have, indeed. It's such a great performing pipe and holds a nice amount. I really enjoy a nice cube cut tobacco in it. It just seems to pair perfectly with the size of the chamber and the slow burn, for when you have a little more time.
